PAIN MANAGEMENT

Chronic pain What is it?

Chronic pain is often defined as pain that lasts longer than 12 weeks. Acute pain is nociceptive, such as tissue damage due to disease or trauma. Although it is a biological symptom caused by stimulation, chronic pain is very different from acute pain. Chronic pain often lasts for several months or longer and may progress to a disease. In addition, chronic pain is usually persistent and the boundaries of the symptom area are unclear, and patients are usually accompanied by depression or show helplessness.
